Ronnie Musgrove (MS)
Ronnie Musgrove will bring experience and integrity to the US Senate. He knows Washington needs to change, and he knows just how to do it. As Ronnie says, "this is a difficult time in our country, but I have lived the struggles that families face in Mississippi and I will never forget that in the United States Senate."
Ronnie has served the state of Mississippi for the past twenty years, as a state senator, Lt. Governor, Governor and finally as a professor. He knows that you have to work across the aisle to get things done. Ronnie will work to improve our economy and achieve energy independence. He will help pass quality, affordable health care and will bring sensible fiscal restraint to what Ronnie calls "out-of-control spending" by Congress.
During Ronnie's four years as Governor, Mississippians saw significant job creation, particularly in rural areas, and real economic expansion, including over $14 billion in new investments. Ronnie passed education reform, enacting pay raises for teachers and strengthened accountability standards. The Mississippi Association of Educators described Ronnie's record on education as "outstanding."
A native of the Magnolia State, Ronnie is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Law. He and his wife Melody are the proud parents of four children, including one who has served two tours in the Iraq with the Marines. The Musgrove's reside in Madison.
Interim Republican Senator Roger Wicker was appointed to this seat after Trent Lott announced his early retirement last year. This exciting race was one that was supposed to be a long shot for Democrats but in recent weeks it has tightened. Republicans are pouring significant resources into the state; his opponent is even running a television ad attacking Hillary and her supporters. While polls show this race is nearly tied, Ronnie needs your help today!
